Yield 12 small servings

Number Of Ingredients 4

2 c. pitted dried dates
2 c. chopped pecans and walnuts
1 c. chopped almonds
1/4-1/2 c. Contreau

Steps:

  • soak dates in warm water if they are very hard (30-60 min), drain, then add dates and nuts to processor and pulse until mixed. Add Contreau (or any liquier, or fruit juice) a little at a time until mixture begins to form a ball. Either roll out on parchment and transfer to a pie plate, or scoop into cups and press into sides and bottom for individual servings. Great with avacado agave chocolate mousse, topped with fresh berries!

I'm allergic to nuts, so I substituted sunflower seeds in the crust. It turned out great! The crust was still flaky and flavorful and the filling was just as delicious.

This pie is a great way to use up leftover dates. I always have a few dates left over after making smoothies and this is a great way to use them up.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my crust turned out really dry. The filling was good, but I was disappointed in the crust.

I'm not a huge fan of raw desserts, but this pie was surprisingly good. The crust was a bit dry, but the filling was rich and flavorful. I would definitely make it again.

The crust was a bit too crumbly for my taste, but the filling was delicious. I'll try again with a different crust recipe.
