- 3. I couldn't believe it! My onions were wilted and dead, really ready for the garbage. I found this info somewhere online and I gave it a try. Those green onions in the photo are my 4-inch wilted green onions that I almost tossed. They even have NEW sprouts on them. I have a couple of bunches in the fridge now. Can you guess what I plan on doing with these?
