Danish Gin Fizz image

From the 1001 Cocktails website, this cocktail includes lime juice and mixer added to gin, brandy and cherry heering, a Danish liqueur with a dark cherry taste.

2 ounces gin
1/2 ounce cherry heering
1 teaspoon cherry brandy (kirsch)
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon superfine sugar
2 1/2 ounces Sprite (or 7-Up)
1 maraschino cherry (for garnish)
1 lime slice (for garnish)

Steps:

  • Pour the gin, cherry heering, kirsch, lime juice and sugar into a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, and strain into a highball glass filled with ice cubes.
  • Gently stir in the soda. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and a slice of lime.
