Creamed Soup Substitute image

I found this recipe online. I use it to substitute cream of mushroom, cream of chicken or cream of celery in recipes. Oftentimes, if the recipe calls for 2 cans I will use this to sub one of the cans therefore reducing at least some of the fat in the recipe.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 c nonfat milk powder
1 tsp italian seasoning
1/2 tsp pepper
3/4 c cornstarch
1/4 c beef boullion granules
1 Tbsp onion flakes
1 Tbsp onion powder

Steps:

  • 1. Combine all ingredients into a airtight jar.
  • 2. In small saucepan, simmer 1 cup water & 1/3 cup mix stirring with a whisk until thickened. Use this to replace one can of cream of mushroom, cream of chicken or cream of celery in any recipe.
