Cranberry Walnut Pie image

Something Special from Wisconsin. The state fruit is the cranberry, and of course, Wisconsin is the dairy state. The ingredients in this seasonal pie bake up into a wonderful treat for Thanksgiving. Our family first had this pie at the Elegant Farmer in East Troy Wisconsin. It took us quite a few attempts to recreate it. I think this is pretty close. You can make your own crust, or use a prepared one. Timing based on using prepared crust.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my pie didn't turn out as good as I hoped. The crust was too hard and the filling was too runny.

The cranberry walnut pie was good, but I think I would have liked it better if the crust was a little more flaky.

This pie was a bit too tart for my taste, but I think that's just because I'm not a big fan of cranberries. Other than that, it was a great pie.

I'm not a huge fan of cranberries, but I loved this pie! The walnuts really balanced out the tartness of the cranberries.

This cranberry walnut pie was a hit at my Thanksgiving dinner! The filling was tart and sweet, and the walnuts added a nice crunch. The crust was flaky and buttery. I'll definitely be making this pie again.
