Cinnamon Pickles image

This has been a long standing favorite of my husband"s family.Everybody loves these pickles.When I share a jar of these pickles with someone they always want the recipe.They are really pretty in the jar.

Number Of Ingredients 16

12-15 large cucumbers
2 c lime
8 1/2 c water
2 c vinegar
1 tsp alum
1 oz. bottle red food coloring
enough water to cover that mixture
c drain
c bring the following to a boil
2 c vinegar
2 c water
1 tsp salt
10 c sugar
1-8.oz pkg red hot candies
8 cinnamon sticks
1 tsp whole cloves

Steps:

  • 1. Pour the above mixture over the cucumbers.Let stand for three days.Reheat the LIQUID each day and on the third day heat the cucumbers in the liquid.When mixture is boiling,pack in clean hot jars and seal.
