Cherry Pecan Snowballs image

This is another good one from my Grandma Whitehead. We really enjoyed this one at the cookie swap, and I have made them several times since. The don't last too long around my house.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 c butter
1/4 c sugar
1 c flour
1 c red cherries, candied, chopped
1 c chopped pecans
1 tsp water
1 tsp vanilla extract

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 275 degrees.
  • 2. Cream butter and add sugar gradually.
  • 3. Add flour, cherries, pecans, water and vanilla, and mix thoroughly.
  • 4. Shape into balls and place on a lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • 5. Bake for 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • 6. Roll in powdered sugar.
