Yield 2-4 People

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 1/2 cup Cajun Spice Mix
12 oz dark beer
2 cups heavy cream
1 lb peeled shrimp, medium
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
CAJUN SPICE MIX
1/2 cup sweet paprika
2 1/2 Tbs cayenne pepper
2 1/2 Tbs garlic powder
1 1/2 Tbs ground black pepper
1 1/2 Tbs ground white pepper
1 Tbs dried thyme
1 Tbs dried oregano
1 Tbs salt
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Store in an airtight container.

Steps:

  • In a heavy saucepan, mix cajun spice mix and beer. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a whisk to make a thick paste. Don't let it burn. Gradually stir in cream to make a smooth sauce. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally for 8 to 10 minutes or until sauce becomes thick and turns a rich rusty color. Add shrimp and red pepper flakes. Reduce heat and cook shrimp over low heat for 2-3 minutes or until shrimp are opaque. Serve with fresh baguette(s).

I would give this recipe a 3 out of 5. It was easy to follow and the shrimp turned out well, but the sauce was a bit too spicy for my taste.

This dish was a total disaster! The shrimp were overcooked and the sauce was too spicy. I'm never making this again.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but my sauce turned out lumpy. I think I'll try a different recipe next time.

This recipe was a bit too bland for my taste. I think I'll add more spices next time.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my shrimp turned out overcooked. I think I'll cook them for less time next time.

This dish was a bit too spicy for my taste, but I still enjoyed it. I think next time I'll use less cayenne pepper.

I'm not a huge fan of spicy food, but this dish was surprisingly mild. The flavors were really well-balanced and the shrimp were cooked perfectly.

I've tried many Cajun shrimp recipes, but this one takes the cake. The cha-cha-cha sauce is out of this world! It's creamy, flavorful, and has a nice kick.
