Canned Tuna & Pringle Patties image

My husband came home from work one night with this idea...it didn't matter what I had already prepared for dinner, he had to try this idea. I thought...GROSS...but I endulged him and well it wasn't too horrible. I am guessing at the measurements, but I think I'm close. Let me know if you think this is Recipezaar worthy!

Time 15m

Yield 4 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 (5 ounce) cans tuna, in water, drained
1/4 cup egg substitute
1/2 cup potato chips, light Pringles crushed
2 tablespoons Miracle Whip, fat free
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
cooking spray

Steps:

  • Mix together the first six ingredients. Shape into small patties, like crab cakes. It will be a wetter mixture than you expect.
  • Heat a skillet over medium high heat with cooking spray.
  • Brown tuna cakes on each side for 1-2 minutes, or until brown.
  • Serve with some mayonnaise (or like my hubby prefers Miracle Whip) and dill pickles.

I'm a pretty good cook, but I have to admit that these patties were a bit of a challenge. They were tricky to get just right.

These patties were just okay. They weren't bad, but they weren't anything special either.

I'm not sure what went wrong, but these patties were a complete disaster. I followed the recipe exactly and they turned out inedible.

These patties were a total flop. They were greasy, bland, and fell apart when I tried to flip them.

I had a hard time getting the patties to hold together. I think I might try adding some bread crumbs next time.

These patties were a bit too crispy for my liking. I think I'll cook them for a shorter amount of time next time.

I found that the patties were a bit bland. I added some extra seasonings and they were much better.

These patties were a bit too oily for my taste. I think I'll try draining the tuna more thoroughly next time.

These patties are a great way to use up leftover tuna. They're also a good source of protein and omega-3 fatty acids.
