Candied Orange Walnuts (Connie's) image

My family has been making these walnuts for years. I do not know if they were "invented" by a family member or gotten out of another resource. I do know they're a big hit around the holidays. I put them in cellophane bags to give as gifts. I suppose you could make it with different nuts or extracts, just never have bothered....

This is a great recipe for using up leftover oranges. I had a few oranges that were about to go bad, so I decided to make these walnuts. They turned out great and I'm so glad I didn't waste the oranges.

These candied orange walnuts are a delightful treat! They're easy to make and the perfect balance of sweet and tangy. I love how the walnuts get a nice crunch from the candying process and the orange zest adds a wonderful flavor.
