Number Of Ingredients 11

10 ounces lump crabmeat, picked over
1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
1 tablespoon finely chopped chives
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
Pinch of cayenne pepper
Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper
1 stick unsalted butter, softened, plus more for greasing the dish
One 24-inch day-old baguette-ends trimmed, bread cut into 3/4-inch slices
4 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup half-and-half

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350° and butter a 9-by-13-inch ceramic baking dish. In a medium bowl, toss the crabmeat with the parsley, chives, lemon juice and cayenne. Season with salt and black pepper. 2. Butter each baguette slice and stand up the slices in the prepared baking dish. Using a spoon, tuck the crab mixture evenly between the slices of bread. 3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs with the milk, half-and-half, 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Pour the custard evenly over the bread and let stand for 10 minutes. 4. Bake the bread pudding for 30 minutes, until the top is lightly browned and the custard is set. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

I'm giving this recipe one star because it's the lowest rating I can give. It was the worst thing I've ever eaten.

This recipe was way too complicated. I spent hours in the kitchen, and the end result wasn't even worth it.

I'm not sure what I did wrong, but my crab bread pudding was a complete disaster. It was dry, overcooked, and tasteless.

I followed the recipe exactly, but my bread pudding didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. I think I might have overcooked it.

This dish was a little too rich for my taste. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been made with less butter.

The only thing I would change about this recipe is to use a different type of bread. I used a white bread, and I think a more flavorful bread would have been better.

I made this dish for a dinner party, and it was a huge success. Everyone raved about how delicious it was.

The buttery sauce was the perfect complement to the crab and bread pudding. I would definitely recommend this recipe to anyone who loves seafood.

This was my first time making crab bread pudding, and it turned out great! I followed the recipe exactly, and it was easy to follow.

I'm not a huge fan of seafood, but I really enjoyed this dish. The crab was cooked perfectly, and the bread pudding was moist and flavorful.

This crab bread pudding was a huge hit! My family loved it, and I would definitely make it again.
