My niece, Marianne Lintner, gave this recipe to me many years ago and it has stood the test of time very well. A good hearty meal for a cold winter night.

Steps:
- 1. Drain the broccoli and set aside (do not cook).
- 2. Cook beef and onion, drain. Add 1-1/2 cups of the cheddar cheese.
- 3. Mix baking mix with water and remaining cheese until soft dough forms. Beat 20 strokes. Pat dough into a greased 13x9" baking dish, pressing 1/2" up the sides.
- 4. Spread beef mixture over dough, sprinkle with broccoli. Mix remaining ingredients and pour over broccoli. Bake at 400 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
- 5. Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
