This is such an easy way to cook your brats and so much better than buying them pre-cooked at the supermarket. Boiling the brats in beer and veggies adds tons of flavor. After being grilled, the skin is nice and crisp and the inside was warm and juicy. Top with your favorite toppings and you have the perfect brat.

Steps:
- 1. Place bratwursts, beer, onion, peppercorns, and cloves in a 3-quart saucepan.
- 2. Simmer for 20 minutes. Drain.
- 3. Grill bratwursts 2 to 5 inches from charcoal about 10 minutes, until browned. Sprinkle with water to form a crisp skin.
- 4. Serve on hard rolls with your choice of condiments, we like it all. If you don't want to use beer, use ginger ale instead.
