A version of this recipe can be found all over the internet, and I love how easy and versatile it is. For me, it's less recipe and more inspiration and refrigerator cleaning. Enjoy!

Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 pkg noodles - soba, udon, somen, ramen, even spaghetti
all ingredients/amounts are suggestions. use what you like!
1 or 2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 or 2 Tbsp teriyaki sauce
1 or 2 Tbsp sweet chili sauce
1 tsp spicy mustard
1 tsp peanut butter
1 tsp cooking oil
1 pinch sugar or honey
1 or 2 oz sliced or shredded veggies (carrots/mushrooms/peas/corn/cabbage/etc)
pinch grated ginger
clove sliced/chopped garlic
several slice green onion
1 or 2 Tbsp sesame seeds

Steps:

  • 1. Choose your noodles. A lot of the Asian noodles I have purchased are already bundled in one or two person servings.
  • 2. Bring an appropriate pot of water to boil, then add noodles and cook according to package.
  • 3. In a bowl (I mix and serve in the same one), mix together whichever of the above ingredients you prefer. You can go salty, spicy, sweet, creamy. I personally would not mix the mustard and PB together, but hey.
  • 4. Add the noodles (I scoop from the pot for some added liquid), stir and eat! Yummy!
  • 5. Great hot or cold. Also yummy with some egg or sliced up leftover meat!

This recipe was a disaster. The noodles were overcooked and the sauce was too salty. I won't be making this again.

I'm not a big fan of Asian food, but I tried this recipe and was pleasantly surprised. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was flavorful without being too spicy.
