Time 45m

Yield 6-8 servings.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1 pastry shell (9 inches), baked and cooled
3 large eggs
1-1/4 cups heavy whipping cream
1 envelope ranch salad dressing mix
4 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled

Steps:

  • Sprinkle cheese into pastry shell. In a bowl, whisk eggs until foamy. Add the remaining ingredients. Pour over cheese. Bake, uncovered, at 400° for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350°. Cover edges with foil; bake 15-20 minutes longer or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

Tips:

  • To ensure a flaky crust, use cold butter and ice water when making the dough. This will help prevent the gluten from developing too much, which can make the crust tough.
  • If you don't have heavy cream on hand, you can use milk instead. However, the quiche will be slightly less rich and creamy.
  • Don't overcook the quiche. The eggs should be set but still slightly jiggly in the center. Overcooked eggs will be tough and rubbery.
  • Let the quiche cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving. This will help the quiche to set and make it easier to slice.
  • Serve the quiche with your favorite toppings, such as salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.

Conclusion:

Ranch style quiche is a delicious and versatile dish that can be served for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It's perfect for a quick and easy meal or for a special occasion. With its creamy filling and flaky crust, this quiche is sure to please everyone at the table. So next time you're looking for a new recipe to try, give this ranch style quiche a try. You won't be disappointed!
