Oh My Goodness...this is sooooo good, what a treat for special guest

Provided by Laura Davis

Categories     Seafood Appetizers

Time 35m

Number Of Ingredients 10

8 oz philly cream cheese
6 oz crab meat, canned
1 Tbsp garlic finely minced
1 Tbsp heavy cream
1 tsp horseradish
1 tsp worcestershire
3 tsp old bay seasoning ( 1 tsp for sprinkling)
2 Tbsp chopped green onions
1 pkg assorted crackers, or toasted bread
1 1/2 c montery jack cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Place Philly cream cheese, heavy cream, worcestershire and 2 tsp of old bay, and mix well, Next add garlic, horseradish, and green onions, mix with spoon, when mixed well , fold in your crab meat, gently. Try to keep your crab meat kinda chunky. Pour in an oven proof dish, and top with Montery jack cheese and remaining old bay seasoning and bake for 30 min.

Tips:

  • Use fresh crab meat. Fresh crab meat has a sweeter, more delicate flavor than canned or frozen crab meat. If you can't find fresh crab meat, you can substitute canned or frozen crab meat, but be sure to drain it well before using.
  • Don't overcook the crab meat. Crab meat is very delicate and can easily become tough if it is overcooked. Cook it just until it is heated through.
  • Use a good quality cream cheese. The cream cheese is the base of the dip, so it's important to use a good quality brand. Look for a cream cheese that is smooth and spreadable.
  • Add some spice. Cajun seasoning is a great way to add some spice to the dip. You can also add other spices, such as garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
  • Serve the dip with a variety of dippers. Crackers, bread, and vegetables are all good options for dipping into the crab dip.

Conclusion:

Rajun Cajun Crab Dip is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is creamy, flavorful, and has just the right amount of spice.
