Tips:

  • Use fresh pumpkin puree: Fresh pumpkin puree has a richer flavor and texture than canned puree. If you don't have time to make your own, look for canned pumpkin puree that is unsweetened and has no added ingredients.
  • Don't overmix the batter: Overmixing the batter will make the pie tough. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Use a deep-dish pie plate: A deep-dish pie plate will prevent the filling from bubbling over. If you don't have a deep-dish pie plate, you can use a regular pie plate and trim the excess dough around the edges.
  • Bake the pie until the center is set: The pie is done baking when the center is set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If the toothpick comes out with wet batter or filling, the pie needs to bake longer.
  • Let the pie cool before serving: The pie will need to cool for at least 2 hours before serving. This will allow the filling to set and the flavors to meld together.

Conclusion:

Pumpkin pie is a classic fall dessert that is easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser. With a few simple tips, you can make a delicious pumpkin pie that will be the star of your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. So what are you waiting for? Give this recipe a try today!
