Tips:

  • Use fresh catfish fillets. Fresh fillets will have a firm, white flesh and a mild, sweet flavor. Avoid fillets that are discolored or have an off odor.
  • Season the catfish fillets generously. The pretzels and bread crumbs will help to keep the catfish moist, but you still need to season it well to make sure it has plenty of flavor. Use a combination of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  • Press the pretzel crumbs and bread crumbs into the catfish fillets firmly. This will help to ensure that the crust stays on the fillets during cooking.
  • Cook the catfish fillets in a hot skillet until they are golden brown and cooked through. The catfish fillets should be cooked to an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Serve the catfish fillets immediately with your favorite dipping sauce. Some popular dipping sauces for catfish include tartar sauce, ranch dressing, and honey mustard.

Conclusion:

Pretzel-crusted catfish is a delicious and easy-to-make dish that is perfect for any occasion. The pretzels and bread crumbs give the catfish a crispy, flavorful crust, while the catfish itself is moist and flaky. This dish is sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
