PORK STEAKS WITH SAVORY CREAM OF MUSHROOM

pork steaks with savory cream of mushroom image

I made this for my kids and I.. but I had so much left over that I ended up giving a plate to my neighbors and a friend tried left overs. My neighbors said that it was so good.. It was tender enough that you could pinch it with a fork and seemed as if it were made from a crock pot. I received wonderful reviews from this meal.

Tips:

  • To ensure your pork steaks are cooked evenly throughout, use a meat thermometer to check that they have reached an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) before removing them from the pan.
  • If you don't have a meat thermometer or prefer a more visual cue, cook the pork steaks until they are no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear when you pierce them with a fork.
  • For a richer, more flavorful sauce, use a combination of heavy cream and milk instead of all milk.
  • If you like your sauce thicker, add a tablespoon of cornstarch or flour to the mixture before simmering.
  • Serve the pork steaks with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, or rice.
