Time 4h35m

Yield 2

Number Of Ingredients 11

2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons honey
3 tablespoons soy sauce
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons ketchup
½ teaspoon ground ginger
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 (6 ounce) thick-cut boneless pork loin chops

Steps:

  • Mix the garlic, brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, ginger, onion powder, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper together in a bowl. Pour half the mixture into a large plastic zipper bag, and place the pork chops into the marinade. Squeeze the air out of the bag, and seal the bag. Refrigerate 4 to 8 hours, turning occasionally. Refrigerate remaining marinade in the bowl.
  • Preheat an outdoor grill for medium heat, and lightly oil the grate.
  • Remove the pork chops from the plastic bag, and shake excess droplets of liquid from the chops. Discard the marinade from the plastic bag. Grill chops on the preheated grill, basting with the reserved marinade until meat is browned, no longer pink inside, and shows good grill marks, 8 to 10 minutes per side. A meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of a chop should read at least 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
  • Pour remaining reserved marinade into a saucepan over medium heat, bring to a boil, and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook the marinade until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes, stirring constantly; serve sauce with chops.

Categories     Main Course

Time 1h15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

4 Bone-in Pork Chops
1/4 cup Olive Oil
1/4 cup Soy Sauce
2 Tbsp Brown Sugar
2 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 tsp Minced Garlic
1/2 tsp Black Pepper

Steps:

  • Place all the ingredients except for the pork chops in a large zip lock bag. Seal the bag and shake or massage the bag to thoroughly combine the ingredients.
  • Then place the pork chops in the bag and marinade for at least 30 minutes but you can marinate over night as well.
  • Take the pork chops out of the refrigerator 20 minutes before cooking them.
  • Heat the grill over medium high heat to at least 400 degrees F and rub the grill gates with oil so that the pork chops do not stick while grilling.
  • Place the pork chops on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes per side (based on the thickness of the pork chops) until the pork reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F. The pork will release naturally from the grill gates when it's ready to flip. If the pork is browning too quickly because of the sugar in the marinade, reduce the temperature on the grill.
  • Move the pork chops to a plate and let them rest for 3-5 minutes before serving

Tips for Marinating Pork Chops for Grilling:

  • Use a flavorful marinade: The marinade is what will give your pork chops their flavor, so make sure to use a marinade that you enjoy. There are many different marinade recipes available, so you can find one that suits your taste.
  • Marinate the pork chops for at least 30 minutes: The longer you marinate the pork chops, the more time the flavors will have to penetrate the meat. However, you don't want to marinate the pork chops for too long, as this can make them tough.
  • Use a non-reactive container: When marinating pork chops, it is important to use a non-reactive container. This means that the container should not react with the acids in the marinade, which can cause the pork chops to become discolored or tough.
  • Turn the pork chops occasionally: While the pork chops are marinating, it is important to turn them occasionally. This will ensure that the marinade is evenly distributed over the pork chops.
  • Discard the marinade: After the pork chops have finished marinating, it is important to discard the marinade. This is because the marinade can contain bacteria that can contaminate the pork chops.

Conclusion:

Marinating pork chops before grilling is a great way to add flavor and tenderness to the meat. By following these tips, you can make sure that your pork chops are perfectly marinated and ready to be grilled.
