CRAVE-WORTHY GROUND PORK TACOS
Thanks to ground pork, these easy pork tacos come together fast. We highly recommend making your own taco seasoning with chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, coriander and cayenne pepper. If you're using store-bought taco mix, watch out for adding additional salt. Often the store-bought packages already have salt added so you might not need to add any additional salt.

Steps:
- Heat a wide skillet over medium heat then add the oil. When the oil is hot, press the pork down into the pan, spreading it out as thin as you can so that it browns evenly on one side, about 5 minutes.
- When it begins to brown on one side, use a wooden spoon to break the pork up into small crumbles. Continue to cook until browned on all sides, about 3 minutes.
- Toss 1 tablespoon of the taco seasoning with the pork. Taste a small crumble to see if it needs more seasoning and adjust from there - when using our homemade taco seasoning mix, we use 2 tablespoons.
- Stir in the water and let it come to a simmer. The mixture will thicken and coat the pork. Season with a pinch or two of salt (if you are using packaged seasoning, it may already have salt added).
- Wrap tortillas, in two stacks, with aluminum foil. Place into the oven for 10 to 15 minutes, or until heated through. Fill each warmed tortilla with pork and your favorite toppings. We particularly love these with mashed avocado spread onto the bottom of each tortilla then topped with pork, cabbage, pickled onions and sour cream.

Tips:
- Choose the right poblano peppers: Look for peppers that are dark green, firm, and have a smooth skin. Avoid peppers that are wrinkled or have blemishes.
- Roast the poblano peppers properly: Roasting the peppers brings out their smoky flavor and makes them easier to peel. To roast the peppers, place them on a baking sheet and broil them for 8-10 minutes, or until the skins are blistered and blackened. Then, place the peppers in a paper bag or covered bowl to steam for 10 minutes. Once the peppers are cool enough to handle, peel and remove the seeds.
- Use a combination of ground pork and beef: This will give the tacos a richer flavor and texture. You can also use all ground pork or all ground beef, if you prefer.
- Season the meat well: The spices in the recipe will help to give the tacos a delicious flavor. Be sure to taste the meat before adding the poblano peppers and adjust the seasonings as needed.
- Use a good quality salsa: The salsa will add a lot of flavor to the tacos, so be sure to choose one that you enjoy. You can use a store-bought salsa or make your own.
- Serve the tacos immediately: The tacos are best when they are served hot and fresh. You can garnish them with additional salsa, sour cream, guacamole, or cilantro.
Conclusion:
Poblano and ground pork tacos are a delicious and easy-to-make meal that is perfect for any occasion. The roasted poblano peppers give the tacos a smoky flavor, while the ground pork and beef add a rich and savory flavor. The tacos are also topped with a variety of fresh and flavorful ingredients, such as salsa, sour cream, guacamole, and cilantro. If you are looking for a new and exciting taco recipe to try, be sure to give these poblano and ground pork tacos a try. They are sure to be a hit with your family and friends.
