1 small white or sweet onion, finely diced and minced
1 clove garlic, peeled and minced

2 tablespoons olive oil, to saute

  • Empty the contents of the tomato can in a mixing bowl and coarsely crush the tomatoes with a fork or your hands, leaving them just a little chunky. 1 small onion, finely chopped
1 fat garlic clove, crushed
2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes
3 tbsp tomato purée
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp dried oregano
2 tsp brown sugar
1 small bunch basil, finely chopped
