Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Make sure your butter and cream cheese are softened to room temperature before using. This will help them blend together smoothly.
  • Be careful not to overmix the batter. Overmixing can make the cake tough.
  • Bake the cake in a preheated oven. This will help it bake evenly.
  • Let the cake cool completely before frosting it. This will help the frosting set properly.
  • If you don't have a candy thermometer, you can test the frosting by dropping a small amount into a glass of cold water. If the frosting forms a soft ball, it is ready.
  • Be sure to use a serrated knife to cut the cake. This will help prevent the cake from crumbling.
