Time 20m

Yield 8 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (20 ounce) package frozen peas, thawed
1 cup chopped celery
2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped, sometimes I use green onions
1 1/2 cups cubed cheddar cheese

3 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon seasoning salt
1 teaspoon mustard

Steps:

  • In large bowl, combine mayo, relish, sugar, seas. salt and mustard. Gently fold in rest of ingredients adding peas last so they don't get broken up and mushy. (Add more mayo if needed.) Chill.
  • If you like it *EXTRA* creamy, double the sauce.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe, juicy peaches: The sweetness and flavor of the peaches will greatly impact the overall taste of the salad. Look for peaches that are slightly soft to the touch and have a vibrant color.
  • Use a variety of greens: A mix of greens adds texture and flavor to the salad. Try combining tender lettuces, such as butterhead or romaine, with heartier greens like kale or arugula.
  • Add some crunch: Incorporate crunchy elements like chopped nuts, seeds, or crispy vegetables to provide a delightful contrast to the soft fruits and greens.
  • Don't skimp on the dressing: A well-balanced dressing is crucial for bringing all the flavors together. Experiment with different dressings, such as a tangy vinaigrette, creamy yogurt-based dressing, or a sweet and savory honey mustard dressing.
  • Serve immediately: Peach salads are best enjoyed fresh, as the peaches tend to oxidize and lose their vibrant color over time. For optimal taste and texture, serve the salad soon after assembling.

Conclusion:

Peach salads are a delightful and versatile dish that can be enjoyed as a refreshing lunch, light dinner, or vibrant side dish. With their sweet and juicy peaches, crisp greens, and flavorful dressings, these salads offer a burst of flavors and textures that will tantalize your taste buds. Experiment with different combinations of ingredients, dressings, and toppings to create unique and personalized peach salads that cater to your preferences and dietary needs. Whether you're looking for a quick and easy meal or a dish to impress your guests, peach salads are sure to deliver a satisfying and memorable culinary experience.
