Champagne Peach Punch image

Serve this peachy smooth punch instead of Mimosas for brunch, with appetizers for a summery touch or in bigger batches for weddings, bridal or baby showers. You can make a non-alcoholic version by substituting pineapple juice and the base can be made the day before. Picture this with an ice ring made with edible flowers such as violas, pansies, dianthus, marigolds or calendula! Just found this on my MSN home page.

Time 10m

Yield 60 oz, 12 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 (16 ounce) package frozen sliced peaches
1/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups orange juice
2 tablespoons lemon juice or 2 tablespoons lime juice
1 (750 ml) bottle champagne or 1 (750 ml) bottle sparkling wine (or 4 cups unsweetened pineapple juice)

Steps:

  • Thaw peaches at room temperature without draining.
  • Blend or process peaches and juice with sugar until smooth.
  • Add to a 2 quart pitcher, stir in orange juice and lemon or lime juice (can be made the day before and refrigerated).
  • At serving time, slowly stir in champagne or sparkling wine (or pineapple juice).
  • Serve over ice cubes, crushed ice or double the recipe and use an ice ring.

Tips:

  • Choose ripe and flavorful peaches: The quality of your peaches will greatly impact the final dish, so be sure to select ripe, juicy, and flavorful ones.
  • Use a good quality champagne: Don't skimp on the champagne! A good quality champagne will add a lot of flavor and complexity to the dish.
  • Don't overcook the peaches: Peaches should be cooked until they are just tender, but not mushy. Overcooked peaches will lose their flavor and texture.
  • Serve the peaches warm or at room temperature: Peaches in champagne can be served warm or at room temperature. If you are serving them warm, be sure to reheat them gently so that they don't overcook.

Conclusion:

Peaches in champagne is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be tailored to your own preferences. Whether you like your peaches soft and syrupy or firm and slightly tart, this dish is sure to please. So next time you have a craving for something sweet and refreshing, give peaches in champagne a try. You won't be disappointed!
