2 cloves crushed garlic
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup Chardonnay wine

Tips:

  • Choose the right cut of beef. Chuck roast, rump roast, and brisket are all good choices for pot roast. Look for a roast that has good marbling, which will help to keep it moist during cooking.
  • Brown the beef before cooking. Browning the beef helps to develop its flavor and create a nice crust. You can brown the beef in a skillet over medium-high heat, or you can use the sauté function on your slow cooker.
  • Add plenty of vegetables. Vegetables add flavor, nutrition, and color to pot roast. Some good choices include carrots, potatoes, onions, celery, and garlic.
  • Use a flavorful cooking liquid. Beef broth, chicken broth, or water can all be used as the cooking liquid for pot roast. However, adding a little bit of red wine, beer, or apple cider can help to enhance the flavor of the dish.
  • Cook the pot roast on low heat. Low heat is essential for cooking pot roast. This allows the meat to cook slowly and evenly, resulting in a tender and flavorful dish.
  • Let the pot roast rest before serving. Once the pot roast is cooked, it's important to let it rest for at least 15 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, resulting in a more tender and flavorful dish.
