Tips:

  • Use fresh cranberries. Fresh cranberries have a tart and bright flavor that will shine through in the sauce. If you can't find fresh cranberries, you can use frozen cranberries, but be sure to thaw them before using.
  • Don't overcook the sauce. Cranberry sauce is best when it is cooked just until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens. If you overcook the sauce, it will become mushy and lose its flavor.
  • Add some orange zest or juice. Orange zest or juice adds a bright and citrusy flavor to cranberry sauce. You can also add other spices, such as cinnamon, nutmeg, or ginger, to taste.
  • Serve the sauce warm or cold. Cranberry sauce can be served warm or cold. If you are serving it warm, be sure to reheat it gently over low heat.
  • Cranberry sauce is a versatile condiment. It can be served with turkey, chicken, pork, or fish. It can also be used as a topping for pancakes, waffles, or French toast.
