2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup water, divided
1-1/2 cups finely chopped onion, divided
1/2 cup matzo meal
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 pounds ground beef
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup lemon juice

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the eggs, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup onion, matzo meal, salt and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture and mix well. Shape into 1-in. balls. , In a Dutch oven, combine the tomato sauce, sugar, lemon juice, and remaining water and onion. Add meatballs; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer until meat is no longer pink, about 45 minutes. Serve with a slotted spoon.

1 onion
1 egg
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
1/2 cup matzo meal
1/4 cup ketchup (optional)
7 ounces whole cranberry sauce
2 (12 ounce) bottles chili sauce

  • Mix meat, onion, egg, salt, pepper and matzah meal togther and form meatballs.
  • Bake meatballs on cookie sheet at 350 for about 30 minutes.

1 lb ground beef
1/4 cup matzo meal
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 egg
1 (16 ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce
1 (26 ounce) jar marinara sauce

Steps:

  • Mix ground beef with matzo meal, onion powder, and oregano. Add the egg. Toss with hands to combine.
  • Empty can of cranberry sauce and marinara sauce into a medium pot and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes stirring with a spoon.
  • Roll meat into balls and carefull add tehmto the pot. Set heat as low as possible. Cover and cook for 40 minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl.
