This recipe was given to me by my sister-in-law Marie years ago. She used to make it for all of our family gatherings, and we all just love it. Marie did in fact add the pepperoni, which it did not call for in the original recipe. I'm assuming it was probably put out by Pepperidge Farm long ago. I've had this recipe for about...

Steps:
- 1. Mix mayonnaise, parmesan and onion
- 2. Spread the party rye with the mixture--not too much on each slice because you don't want the bread to be soggy after it broils
- 3. sprinkle with paprika--as much or as little as you want
- 4. Put a thin slice of pepperoni on each slice of bread
- 5. put under the broiler for 2 to 3 minutes or until the mixture bubbles
- 6. (please note that I put 5 minutes of cook time in the cooking category because I had to put something--but it only takes 2-3 minutes)

Steps:
- 1. Mix dip mix with cream cheese, 1 tsp. dill, cracked pepper and sour cream. Spread on party rye slices. Top with a cucumber slice (or Roma tomato slice). Sprinkle with dry dill weed.
- 2. Top with additional toppings, if desired.
- 3. ***Instead of cucumber slices, I sometimes also make half with a slice of Roma Tomato for an attractive party platter.
Tips:
- Prepare the dough in advance: The dough for these rye rounds can be made up to 3 days ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator. This makes them a great make-ahead appetizer or snack.
- Use a sharp knife to cut the dough: This will help to ensure that the rounds are evenly cut and have a clean edge.
- Bake the rounds until they are golden brown: This will give them a crispy exterior and a chewy interior.
- Serve the rounds warm or at room temperature: They can be enjoyed on their own or with your favorite toppings, such as butter, cheese, or deli meat.
Conclusion:
These party rye rounds are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack that are perfect for any occasion. They are made with a simple dough that is flavored with rye flour and caraway seeds.
