Yield 1 roll.

Number Of Ingredients 6

2 8 oz. cream cheese
2-3 cans smoked oysters
1-2 tsp worchestershire
2-3 tbsp mayonaise
1 tsp garlic powder or fresh garlic
1 tsp onion salt or finely minced onion.

Steps:

  • Cream mayonaise into cheese and add spices. Spread on a greased wax paper sheet (use vegetable oil). Make a 1/2 inch thick rectangle. Cool two hours in the fridge. Mash oysters with a fork. Spread over cheese keeping 1/4 inch away from the edge. Roll and serve with crackers. NOTE: Rolling the cold cream cheese can be tricky. It sometimes begins to crack. If this happens, warm it up a bit and proceed.

Tips:

  • Use fresh, high-quality oysters. This will make a big difference in the flavor of your rolls.
  • Shuck the oysters carefully. You don't want to damage the meat of the oyster.
  • Be sure to rinse the oysters thoroughly. This will remove any grit or sand.
  • Use a good quality roll. A soft, fluffy roll will help to soak up the oyster juices.
  • Don't overcook the oysters. They should be cooked just until they are opaque.
  • Serve the rolls immediately. They are best when they are hot and fresh.

Oyster rolls are a delicious and easy-to-make seafood dish. They are perfect for a summer cookout or a casual get-together.
