Time 27m

Yield 6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (24 ounce) jar pickles, slices
2 eggs
1/3 cup flour
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon hot sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cajun seasoning
1 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs
ranch dressing, and hot sauce for dipping

Steps:

  • Turn oven broiler on high.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs and flour.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, garlic powder, Cajun seasoning, and pepper. Mix well.
  • Place panko bread crumbs in a shallow dish.
  • Dunk each pickle slice into the egg mixture, than dredge it in the panko bread crumbs.
  • Place coated pickles on a rack set above a baking sheet and sprayed with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Place pan in the middle rack of the oven. Broil for about 3 minutes on each side.
  • Serve with Ranch dressing and a dash of hot sauce.

Tips:

  • Choose the right pickles: Look for pickles that are firm and have a good crunch. Avoid pickles that are too soft or mushy.
  • Use a light breading: A heavy breading will make the pickles too greasy. Use a light coating of flour, cornmeal, or Panko breadcrumbs.
  • Fry the pickles in hot oil: The oil should be at least 375 degrees Fahrenheit. This will help the pickles cook evenly and prevent them from becoming soggy.
  • Don't overcrowd the pan: Cook the pickles in batches so that they have plenty of room to fry. Overcrowding the pan will make the pickles steam instead of fry.
  • Serve the pickles hot: Fried pickles are best served hot and crispy. You can serve them with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch dressing or ketchup.

Conclusion:

Oven-baked fried pickles are a delicious and easy-to-make snack or appetizer. They are perfect for parties or game day gatherings. With the right ingredients and a little bit of preparation, you can make oven-baked fried pickles that are just as good as the ones from your favorite restaurant.
