ORANGE PEACH SMOOTHIE

Orange Peach Smoothie image

This is a great fruity and sweet smoothie that doesn't need any additional sugar or sweetner. It is so easy to make why not have a healthy drink in the morning?

Provided by Barbara Kavorkian

Categories     Breakfast

Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 6

1/2 medium fresh banana
1/2 medium small to medium orange, peeled and segments frozen
1 c peach yogurt (low fat)
1/2 c cooked quick oatmeal
1-2 c ice
splash of apple juice as needed

Steps:

  • 1. Place banana, yogurt and oatmeal into blender with a splash of apple juice and roughly blend (not completely blend) Add in ice 1/2 cup at a time till desired thickness and frozen segments pulsing to break up, then blend till smooth. Add juice to desired thickness. This will make one large smoothie with a bit to spare, or 2 smaller smoothies.

Tips:

  • Prep Ahead: Save time and prep ingredients beforehand. Wash and cut your fruits, freeze them if desired for a colder blend.
  • Adjust Sweetness: Naturally sweet fruits like mango, pineapple, and banana add ample sweetness. If you prefer a tarter smoothie, reduce honey or maple syrup.
  • Liquid Balance: Manage the smoothie consistency by adjusting liquid content. For a thicker blend, use less liquid or add a thickening agent like Greek yogurt or frozen fruit. For a thinner blend, add more liquid.
  • Flavor Variations: Experiment with different fruit combinations and mix-ins. Try berries, citrus, or tropical fruits. Add-ins like peanut butter, spinach, or protein powder can also enhance flavor and nutritional value.
  • Chill: Serve your smoothie chilled for a refreshing pick-me-up. Using frozen fruits keeps it cool, or add a few ice cubes.
