OLD FASHIONED WALNUT SOUR CREAM CAKE

In a small saucepan, combine sugar and juices. Bring to a boil. Brush over warm cake. Cool completely. Yield: 6-8 servings.
Tips:
- For the best flavor, use fresh walnuts. If you don't have fresh walnuts, you can use store-bought walnuts, but toast them in a 350°F oven for 5-7 minutes before using.
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. This will help to incorporate air into the batter, resulting in a lighter, more tender cake.
- Don't overmix the batter. Overmixing can result in a tough, dense cake.
- Bake the cake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Overbaking can result in a dry, crumbly cake.
- Let the cake cool completely before frosting. This will help to prevent the frosting from melting.
- Store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
