Time 27m

Yield 36 cookies, 18 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/4 cups quick oats
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup wheat germ
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup corn oil
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup raisins
1/2 cup unsalted sunflower seeds

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325°F Mix all ingredients together in mixing bowl. Form into 1" balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes.
  • If you find them hard to form into the 1" balls, add a tiny bit of water to the recipe to make it less crumbly.

Tips:

  • Use old-fashioned oats: These oats will provide a chewier texture than quick-cooking or instant oats.
  • Toast the sunflower seeds: Toasting the sunflower seeds will enhance their flavor and make them more crunchy.
  • Use a ripe banana: A ripe banana will add sweetness and moisture to the cookies.
  • Chill the dough: Chilling the dough will help the cookies hold their shape better.
  • Bake the cookies until they are golden brown: This will ensure that they are cooked through.

Conclusion:

These oatmeal sunflower seed cookies are a delicious and healthy snack that are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. Try adding different nuts, seeds, or dried fruits to create your own unique flavor combinations.
