PEPPERMINT PATTIES

I have made these every year as one of many Christmas treats. My family really loves them, it wouldn't be Christmas without them! When you dip, tap the fork on the edge of the pan to shake off excess. Slide the patty onto waxed paper -- you can use the fork to make a little swirl on the top to make it pretty.

Tips:

  • For best results, use fresh mint leaves. If you don't have fresh mint, you can use dried mint, but the flavor will be less intense.
  • To make the patties easier to work with, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out.
  • If the dough is too sticky to roll out, add a little more flour. Don't add too much flour, or the patties will be tough.
  • When cutting out the patties, use a sharp knife or cookie cutter. This will help to prevent the edges from becoming ragged.
  • Bake the patties until they are just set. Overbaking will make them dry and crumbly.
  • Let the patties cool completely before dipping them in chocolate. This will help to prevent the chocolate from melting.
  • For a thinner chocolate coating, dip the patties in melted chocolate and then let them cool on a wire rack. For a thicker coating, dip the patties in melted chocolate twice.
  • Store the patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Conclusion:

These mint patties are a delicious and refreshing treat that are perfect for any occasion. They are easy to make and can be customized to your liking. So next time you are looking for a sweet treat, give these mint patties a try!
