Tips:

  • Use fresh or frozen peas. Fresh peas are best, but frozen peas are a good option if fresh peas are not available. If using frozen peas, thaw them before cooking.
  • Choose the right noodles. Any type of noodle can be used in this recipe, but some noodles work better than others. Thin noodles, such as angel hair or vermicelli, cook quickly and are easy to eat. Thicker noodles, such as spaghetti or penne, can hold more sauce and are more filling.
  • Cook the noodles according to the package directions. Be sure to cook the noodles until they are al dente, or slightly firm to the bite.
  • Sauté the vegetables. Sautéing the vegetables in a little bit of oil helps to bring out their flavor. Be sure to cook the vegetables until they are tender but still have a little bit of crunch.
  • Add the sauce. The sauce for this recipe is a simple combination of butter, garlic, and Parmesan cheese. You can also add other ingredients to the sauce, such as cream, milk, or herbs.
  • Serve immediately. This dish is best served immediately after it is made. The noodles will start to absorb the sauce and become mushy if they sit for too long.

Conclusion:

This recipe for Mom's Peas and Noodles is a quick and easy meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner. It is also a great way to use up leftover peas. The dish is simple, but it is full of flavor. The combination of peas, noodles, and Parmesan cheese is a classic combination that is sure to please everyone at the table.
