Tips:

  • Use a food processor to save time. Simply add all of the ingredients for the crust to the food processor and pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Then, press the mixture into the pie pan and bake according to the recipe instructions.
  • If you don't have a food processor, you can make the crust by hand. Simply combine the flour, salt, and sugar in a large bowl. Then, use a pastry blender or two forks to cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs. Finally, add the ice water one tablespoon at a time until the dough just comes together. Press the dough into a ball, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before rolling it out.
  • Be sure to chill the dough before baking. This will help to prevent the crust from shrinking and becoming tough. You can chill the dough for up to 2 hours before baking.
  • Use a sharp knife to slice the apples. This will help to prevent the apples from becoming bruised or crushed.
  • Don't overcook the apples. The apples should be tender but still hold their shape.
  • Serve the pies warm with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.

Conclusion:

These mini sugar-free apple pies are the perfect way to enjoy a classic dessert without all of the guilt. They're made with a flaky, sugar-free crust and filled with tender, cinnamon-spiced apples. And the best part is, they're so easy to make! Whether you're a busy weeknight cook or a seasoned baker, you'll love this simple and delicious recipe.
