Time 15m

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 can(s) fat-free sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)
1 c reduced-fat sour cream
1/3 c fresh lime juice
2 Tbsp fresh lime juice
5 drops green food coloring (optional)
1 8- oz. carton reduced-fat cool whip, thawed
1 8-inch reduced-fat graham cracker crust

Steps:

  • 1. In a large bowl, combine the milk, sour, cream, lime juice (all) and food coloring, if desired. Fold in whipped topping.
  • 2. Pour mixture into the crust and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.

Tips:

  • Make sure the egg whites are at room temperature before you start. This will help them reach their full volume.
  • Use a clean bowl and whisk when whipping the egg whites. Any grease or residue can prevent the egg whites from reaching their full volume.
  • Whip the egg whites gradually, starting on low speed and increasing the speed as the whites start to foam. This will help prevent the whites from curdling.
  • Whip the egg whites until they reach stiff peaks. This means that when you lift the whisk out of the bowl, the peaks should stand straight up and not fall over.
  • When folding the egg whites into the other ingredients, do so gently to avoid deflating the whites.
  • Bake the pie in a preheated oven for the best results.
  • Let the pie cool completely before serving. This will help the filling to set and the pie to slice cleanly.

Conclusion:

Mile-high lime pie is a delicious and impressive dessert that is sure to wow your guests. With its creamy filling, fluffy meringue, and tangy lime flavor, this pie is a perfect way to end any meal. Follow these tips to make sure your mile-high lime pie turns out perfectly every time.
