This is a yummy, flavorful marinade that livens up bland chicken dinners. However, this could also be used on pork chops, fish and turkey! I made this with brown rice and used some of the unused marinade as a sauce to pour over the rice. DELICIOUS!!!

Tips:

  • To make the most tender and flavorful meat, choose cuts that have a good amount of marbling, such as ribeye, strip loin, or flank steak.
  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of herbs and spices. Some popular Mediterranean herbs and spices include oregano, thyme, rosemary, basil, and garlic.
  • If you are using a citrus marinade, be sure to add some oil to help prevent the acid from "cooking" the meat.
  • Always marinate your meat for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 24 hours. Over-marinating can toughen the meat.
  • When you are ready to cook the meat, be sure to drain off the marinade and pat the meat dry. This will help the meat brown more evenly.

Conclusion:

A Mediterranean marinade is a great way to add flavor and tenderness to your grilled, roasted, or pan-fried meats. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create a marinade that will make your meat the star of the show. So next time you're looking for a delicious and easy way to cook meat, give a Mediterranean marinade a try.
