Here's yet another recipe that comes from the great 2007 cookbook, More Smoothies for Live, & one that makes a drink that, with the folate & vitamin C it contains, can help you reduce the development of wrinkles.

Categories     Smoothies

Time 2m

Yield 2-3 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 cup ice cube
1 cup guava nectar
1 cup mango nectar
1 papaya, peeled, seeded
1 cup plain fat-free yogurt

Steps:

  • Combine the ingredients in a blender & puree until smooth.
  • Pour into 2 tall glasses & ENJOY!

Tips:

  • Select ripe fruits: Use ripe mangoes and papayas for the best flavor and texture. Ripe mangoes should be slightly soft to the touch and have a sweet aroma, while ripe papayas should have a slightly orange-yellow hue and yield to gentle pressure.
  • Adjust sweetness: Taste the smoothie before adding additional sweetener. The natural sweetness of the fruits may be sufficient, especially if using very ripe fruits. Adjust the amount of honey or agave syrup to your preference.
  • Control thickness: The consistency of the smoothie can be adjusted by varying the amount of liquid. For a thicker smoothie, use less milk or water. For a thinner smoothie, add more liquid until desired consistency is reached.
  • Use frozen fruits: Frozen fruits can be used in place of fresh fruits. This is a great way to use up leftover fruits or to make the smoothie ahead of time. Simply freeze the fruits in airtight containers until ready to use.
  • Add-ins: Feel free to experiment with different add-ins to customize the smoothie to your liking. Some popular options include chia seeds, flax seeds, protein powder, nut butter, or yogurt.

Conclusion:

This mango papaya smoothie is a refreshing, tropical treat that is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a snack. It is packed with nutrients and antioxidants, making it a healthy and delicious choice. With its creamy texture and sweet-tart flavor, this smoothie is sure to become a favorite. So next time you have some ripe mangoes and papayas on hand, be sure to give this recipe a try!
