Time 20m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 c water
3 c fresh or frozen whole cranberries(picked through for bad ones)
1/2 c truvia (low sugar) baking blend
1 tsp orange extract
1 tsp butter extract

Steps:

  • 1. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE YEILD AMOUNT IS NOT AS MUCH AS YOU WOULD GET IF YOU WERE USING REGULAR SUGAR. So plan accordingly if you want to serve a lot of people this lower calorie version.
  • 2. These are the main ingredients in this recipe.
  • 3. Add the Truvia and the water to a medium size sauce pan. Bring to a boil, then add the cranberries. Continue to cook for about 10 minutes until cranberries begin to burst. Stir to prevent from sticking.
  • 4. Cook until mixture is thickened and most of the cranberries have burst. Remove from heat, add the orange and butter extracts, then stir to blend. Allow to sit till thickened. Serve and enjoy.

Tips:

  • Choose fresh, ripe cranberries. This will ensure that your sauce has the best flavor and texture.
  • Don't overcook the cranberries. Overcooked cranberries will become mushy and lose their tartness.
  • Add sugar or other sweetener to taste. The amount of sweetener you add will depend on your personal preference.
  • Use a variety of spices to flavor your sauce. Common spices used in cranberry sauce include cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  • Let your sauce cool before serving. This will allow the flavors to meld and develop.

Conclusion:

With its vibrant color, tangy flavor, and versatility, cranberry sauce is a delicious and festive addition to any holiday table. Whether you prefer a classic recipe or something more unique, there's a cranberry sauce recipe out there for everyone. So next time you're looking for a side dish that's both delicious and easy to make, reach for some cranberries. You won't be disappointed!
