  • Pour the scalded milk over the bread; set aside.
  • Mix the eggs with the sugar.
  • Stir in the remaining ingredients and pour the egg-and-sugar mixture over the bread-and-milk mixture.

Tips:

  • Use a variety of breads for a more complex flavor and texture. Stale bread works best, as it absorbs the custard more easily.
  • Soak the bread cubes in the milk and egg mixture for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight. This will help the bread to absorb the flavors and become tender.
  • Add your favorite mix-ins to the bread pudding, such as raisins, nuts, chocolate chips, or dried fruit.
  • Bake the bread pudding in a water bath to prevent it from drying out. This will also help to create a creamy custard.
  • Serve the bread pudding warm with a drizzle of whiskey sauce or your favorite topping.

Conclusion:

Louisiana bread pudding with whiskey sauce is a classic dessert that is perfect for any occasion. It is easy to make and can be customized to your own taste. With its rich, creamy custard and boozy whiskey sauce, this bread pudding is sure to be a hit. So next time you are looking for a delicious and decadent dessert, give this recipe a try.
