Yield Makes 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 11

Spread
1 extra ripe avocado
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Sandwich
8 slices turkey bacon
8 slices whole-wheat bread
8 leaves romaine lettuce
2 medium tomatoes, cut into 12 slices
1 small red onion, thinly sliced

Steps:

  • Combine spread ingredients in a bowl. Mash until smooth and set aside. Prepare bacon as directed on package; drain thoroughly on paper towels. Toast bread. Place 4 slices on 4 plates. Spread an equal amount of avocado spread on each slice. Top each with 1/4 of the bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion. Cover each with another slice of toast. Cut sandwiches in half and serve immediately.

Tips:

  • Use high-quality ingredients: The better the ingredients, the better your BLT spread will be. Use fresh, ripe tomatoes, crispy bacon, and creamy mayonnaise.
  • Don't overmix the spread: Overmixing can make the spread too runny. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the spread before serving: Chilling the spread will help it to firm up and make it easier to spread.
  • Serve the spread on your favorite bread or crackers: BLT spread is delicious on sandwiches, wraps, or crackers. You can also use it as a dip for vegetables or chips.

Conclusion:

BLT spread is a quick and easy appetizer or snack that is perfect for any occasion. It is made with just a few simple ingredients, and it can be customized to your liking. Whether you like it classic or you want to add your own unique twist, BLT spread is sure to be a hit.
