FAIR PLAY
This light-bodied, low-in-alcohol, aperitif-style cocktail from Natasha David shows off the benefits of its collection of disparate ingredients. The Lillet assumes easy, refreshing drinking; the Suze and vermouth lend a slight bitterness and subtle complexity; and the bourbon anchors it all. The marmalade, meanwhile, nods to brunch, and may make you hunger for a bit of food.

Steps:
- Combine all the ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir. Strain the liquid into a double rocks glass with ice. Garnish with an orange wheel.
Tips:
- Choose the right Lillet: Blanc, Rouge, and Rosé are the three main types of Lillet. Blanc is light and refreshing, Rouge is fruity and robust, and Rosé is a blend of the two. Select the Lillet that best suits your taste preferences and the cocktail you're making.
- Use fresh ingredients: Fresh fruits, herbs, and citrus juices elevate the flavors of Lillet cocktails. Whenever possible, opt for seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
- Balance the flavors: Lillet cocktails should strike a balance between sweet, sour, and bitter flavors. Use a variety of ingredients to create a harmonious flavor profile.
- Garnish creatively: A well-chosen garnish can enhance the appearance and flavor of your cocktail. Experiment with different fruits, herbs, and spices to find the perfect finishing touch.
- Serve chilled: Lillet cocktails are best served chilled. Use chilled ingredients and serve over ice or in a chilled glass to keep them refreshing.
Conclusion:
Lillet is a versatile and flavorful aperitif that can be enjoyed on its own or used to create a variety of refreshing cocktails.
