1 lb pork, sliced thinly against the grain
1/2 cup gochujang, pepper paste
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/3 cup vegetable oil
3 teaspoons cooking wine
2 garlic cloves, grated
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
3 teaspoons toasted sesame seeds
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt, pepper
4 scallions, chopped (optional)

  • Brown the pork well: Browning the pork before braising it helps to develop flavor and caramelize the meat.
  • Use a flavorful braising liquid: The braising liquid is what gives the pork its flavor, so be sure to use a flavorful combination of ingredients. A good option is to use a mixture of chicken broth, white wine, lemon juice, and herbs.
