Time 10m

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 pkg (8 ounces each) blocks of cream cheese, softened.
2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 Tbsp green onion, finely chopped
3/4 c cocktail or chilili sauce
1 can(s) (6 ounces) crabmeat, picked and drained
crackers

Steps:

  • 1. In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, lemon juice, worcesterhire sauce and garlic powder until fluffy. Stir in green onions.
  • 2. On a serving plate, spread the cheese mixture into a 7 inch circle. Top with cocktail sauce then the crabmeat. Cover and chill.
  • 3. Serve with crackers.

Tips:

  • Use fresh crab meat: Fresh crab meat has a sweeter and more delicate flavor than canned or frozen crab meat.
  • Don't overmix the crab spread: Overmixing will make the spread tough and rubbery. Mix just until the ingredients are combined.
  • Chill the crab spread before serving: Chilling the spread will help it to firm up and make it easier to spread.
  • Serve the crab spread with your favorite crackers or vegetables: Some popular options include Ritz crackers, celery, and cucumber.

Conclusion:

Layered crab spread is a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer that is perfect for any occasion. It is made with a combination of fresh crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, and other seasonings. The spread is then chilled and served with crackers or vegetables. This recipe is sure to be a hit at your next party or gathering!
