EASY KIELBASA SKILLET DINNER
The house always smells awesome while this very tasty, filling meal is cooking. It makes kielbasa worth stocking up on when it goes on sale and uses basic/cheap ingredients overall. Vary the vegetables depending on what you have on hand. For example add/replace broccoli with a can of corn and/or peas, etc. If you like a little heat, sprinkle a little hot sauce on top after it's cooked. This should make about 4 servings, but it almost always turns out to be split into 2 large servings between the me and the boyfriend. We like to crisp up/brown the kielbasa slightly before adding the vegetables.

On rainy days, I often want comfort food-something to warm my belly and my soul! This very easy cabbage soup recipe is something my mother would make for me on days just like this. Her version has a ham hock, but you can use kielbasa instead, or go no-meat, the way I did.

Tips:
- Choose high-quality kielbasa: Opt for a kielbasa with a good meat-to-fat ratio and a smoky flavor. Look for brands that use natural ingredients and avoid those with excessive fillers.
- Slice the kielbasa thinly: This will help it cook evenly and release its flavor more effectively.
- Brown the kielbasa before adding it to the soup: This will give it a nice caramelized crust and enhance its flavor.
- Use a variety of vegetables: Don't limit yourself to just onions. Consider adding other vegetables like carrots, celery, potatoes, or bell peppers for a more flavorful and nutritious soup.
- Use a flavorful broth: The broth is the base of the soup, so make sure it's flavorful. You can use a store-bought broth or make your own using bones, vegetables, and herbs.
- Season the soup to taste: Don't be afraid to adjust the seasoning to your liking. Add salt, pepper, garlic powder, or other spices until the soup tastes just right.
- Serve with crusty bread or crackers: Kielbasa onion soup is a hearty and comforting meal that's perfect for a cold day. Serve it with crusty bread or crackers for a complete meal.
