EASY KIELBASA SKILLET DINNER

Easy Kielbasa Skillet Dinner image

The house always smells awesome while this very tasty, filling meal is cooking. It makes kielbasa worth stocking up on when it goes on sale and uses basic/cheap ingredients overall. Vary the vegetables depending on what you have on hand. For example add/replace broccoli with a can of corn and/or peas, etc. If you like a little heat, sprinkle a little hot sauce on top after it's cooked. This should make about 4 servings, but it almost always turns out to be split into 2 large servings between the me and the boyfriend. We like to crisp up/brown the kielbasa slightly before adding the vegetables.

Tips:

  • To make sure the kielbasa is cooked evenly, use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature. It should reach 160°F (71°C) for fully cooked kielbasa and 145°F (63°C) for medium-cooked kielbasa.
  • If you're using a grill pan, preheat it over medium-high heat before adding the kielbasa. This will help sear the outside of the sausage and prevent it from sticking.
  • If you're baking the kielbasa, line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup. This will catch any grease that drips from the sausage while it's cooking.
  • Kielbasa can be served with a variety of sides, such as sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, or grilled vegetables.
  • Make sure to slice the kielbasa against the grain before serving. This will help it stay tender and juicy.

Conclusion:

Kielbasa is a versatile and flavorful sausage that can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. Whether you're grilling it, baking it, or frying it, kielbasa is sure to be a hit. So next time you're looking for a quick and easy meal, give kielbasa a try.
