Tips:

  • Select ripe pears: Use firm but ripe pears for the best flavor and texture. Pears that are too hard will not soften properly in the pie, while pears that are too soft will become mushy.
  • Peel and core the pears: Use a sharp knife to peel and core the pears. Be careful not to cut away too much of the flesh.
  • Slice the pears thinly: Slice the pears into thin, even slices. This will help them cook evenly in the pie.
  • Use a deep-dish pie plate: A deep-dish pie plate will help to prevent the pie from overflowing. You want the filling to stay in the pie and not end up all over your oven.
  • Don't overfill the pie crust: Leave about 1/2-inch of space between the filling and the top of the pie crust. This will allow the pie to expand as it bakes and prevent it from bubbling over.
  • Bake the pie at a high temperature for the first 15 minutes: This will help to create a golden brown crust. Then, reduce the temperature and continue baking until the filling is bubbly and the crust is cooked through.
  • Let the pie cool before serving: Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving. This will give the filling time to set and the flavors to develop.

Conclusion:

Kelly's Country Style Fresh Pear Pie is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert. With its flaky crust, sweet and juicy filling, and warm spices, this pie is sure to be a hit with your family and friends. Follow these tips for making the best pear pie: select ripe pears, peel and core them, slice them thinly, use a deep-dish pie plate, don't overfill the pie crust, bake the pie at a high temperature for the first 15 minutes, and let the pie cool before serving. With a little time and effort, you can create a homemade pear pie that will be the star of any dessert table.
