KAHLUA® HOMEMADE

Kahlua® Homemade image

This recipe I love to make around Thanksgiving to drink or give as presents at Christmastime. The longer you wait the better it is, try and wait 4 weeks. I got this recipe from one of my own concoctions from trying several different recipes.

Tips:

  • Use fresh egg whites for the meringue. Older egg whites will not whip up as well and will result in a less fluffy cream.
  • Make sure the egg whites are at room temperature before whipping them. This will help them to whip up more easily and will result in a more stable meringue.
  • Whip the egg whites gradually, starting on low speed and increasing the speed as the whites begin to foam. This will help to prevent the whites from over-whipping and becoming grainy.
  • Do not over-whip the egg whites. Over-whipped egg whites will be dry and crumbly, and will not hold their shape well.
  • Add the sugar to the egg whites slowly, one tablespoon at a time. This will help to prevent the sugar from crystallizing and will result in a smooth and glossy meringue.
  • Continue whipping the meringue until it is stiff and glossy. The meringue should hold its shape when you lift the beaters out of the bowl.
  • Fold the Kahlua and cream into the meringue gently. Over-mixing will deflate the meringue and make it less fluffy.
  • Serve the Kahlua cream meringue immediately, or store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 hours.

Conclusion:

Kahlua cream meringue is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that is perfect for any occasion. With its light and fluffy texture and rich Kahlua flavor, this dessert is sure to be a hit. Whether you are serving it at a party or enjoying it as a special treat, Kahlua cream meringue is sure to please everyone.
